Irving water customers are encouraged to voluntarily conserve water by adhering to the following guidelines:

  • Irrigate landscape twice weekly per schedule above.
  • DO NOT water between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Avoid water run-off, allowing water to collect on sidewalks and roadways.
  • Use of hand-held garden hose, soaker hose, bucket or drip irrigation allowed at all times.

The City of Irving will conserve water by:

  • Irving Water Utility staff will communicate as necessary with DWU to initiate joint water management programs.
  • Irving Water staff will work with major water users to voluntary reduce water use.
  • Irving Water Utility staff will conduct public information programs to educate its customers, enlist their support of voluntary water use restrictions, and to remind customers that the summer water surcharge rate structure is in effect.
