Customers should practice water conservation and minimize or discontinue non-essential water use. The City of Irving will refrain from landscape watering more than two days a week, and will eliminate street and vehicle washing, except when used water can be captured for reuse. In addition to initiating public information alerts, the city will work with civic groups, neighborhood associations, and other groups to encourage water conservation. The city also will work with major water users to reduce usage. Residents who do not observe the watering restrictions are subject to fines of up to $2,000. Each day the plan is violated will be considered a separate offense. Call Water Utilities at (972) 721-2281 for more information. |
