Irving water customers are required to conserve water by adhering to the following restrictions:

• Irrigate landscape twice weekly per schedule above.
• Even-numbered houses and businesses may water on Tuesdays and Saturdays; odd-numbered addresses may water on Wednesdays and Sundays. Do not water on Mondays, Thursdays or Fridays and between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
• Foundations and new plantings may only be watered using a hand-held harden hose, soaker hose, bucket, or drip irrigation for up to two (2) hours on any day.
• Washing of any motor vehicle, motorbike, boat, or trailer is only permitted on the designated landscape water days, using a hand-held bucket or a hand-held hose equipped with a positive shutoff nozzle for quick rinses.
• Draining of indoor or outdoor pools/Jacuzzi-style pools and refilling is prohibited. Only newly constructed pools and repaired pools can be refilled.
• Operation of any ornamental fountain or pond is prohibited, except where necessary to support aquatic life or where such fountains are equipped with a recirculation system.
• Watering golf course greens and tee boxes are permitted, but irrigating the golf course fairways and other areas must comply with the twice per week watering schedule.
• Prohibited uses of water:
  1. No wash of hard-surfaced (sidewalks, parking lots, etc.).
  2. Washing down buildings or structures except for fire protection or in preparation for painting.
  3. Use of water for dust control.
  4. Flushing gutters or permitting water to run or accumulate in street.
  5. Failure to repair controllable leaks.
• These watering restrictions do no apply to private wells or other non-potable water.

The City of Irving will conserve water by:

• The City will initiate public information alerts using both print and electronic media.
• The City will work with civic groups, neighborhood associations, summer youth programs, and the like to encourage water conservation.
• The city will work with major water users to reduce water use.
• The city will refrain from landscape watering more than 2 days a week, and will eliminate street and vehicle washing, except when used water can be recaptured for reuse. Other governmental agencies within the city's service area will be asked to comply with these water use restrictions.
• Stage 2 restrictions will be enforced.  Any water user convicted for violation of this plan may be punished by a fine up to $2,000.  Each day the plan is violated is a separate offense.
