The City of Irving trims tree limbs that extend over city streets when needed. Dead trees or those that pose a hazard on City property are removed by Street Maintenance crews.
Residents and property owners are responsible for trimming shrubs and tree limbs that block sidewalks.

You can call TXU at (972) 791-2888 to report any tree limbs that are growing too close to utility lines and need to be trimmed.

The City of Irving maintains both improved and unimproved alleys.
The property owner is responsible for the mowing of grass, trimming of tree limbs extending into the alley and keeping the alley free of debris.

The City of Irving has adopted several ordinances that address property conditions in the city. These ordinances are enforced by the city’s Code Enforcement Division.
City ordinance requires that property, adjacent alleys, easements and sidewalks be kept free from stagnant water, weeds, tall grass, rubbish and brush. Grass and weeds may be no taller than 12 inches.
