Holiday Happenings Reminder, city offices will be closed Sept. 7 for Labor Day. All offices will reopen at their regular hours on Sept. 8. There will be no residential trash or brush collection on Sept. 7, nor will there be any curbside recycling service. The city’s drop-off recycling centers and landfill at 220 W. Hunter Ferrell Road also will be closed on Sept. 7. Every year the city observes several holidays. These holidays are spread throughout the year and will affect some of the services provided to citizens. For instance, the Solid Waste Services Department will not provide residential waste, recycling, or brush/bulky waste collection on city designated holidays. These services will resume on your next regularly scheduled day.
The remaining holidays for 2009:
Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7 Thanksgiving, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 to 27* Christmas, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24 to 25**
*All full-service recycling centers will re-open on Friday, Nov. 27. **All full-service recycling centers will be open on Thursday, Dec. 24.
