Q: Who can use Irving’s Material Exchange?
A: Irving's Material Exchange is a free on-line listing service for Irving residents who live in a single family or multi family dwelling.

Q: What are the rules?
A: Irving’s Material Exchange provides a free on-line listing service only. Information provided through Irving’s Material Exchange is supplied by the listing party. Neither the City of Irving, Solid Waste Services nor any employee is liable for any information, error, or representation, or makes any warranty, expressed or implied, as to the accuracy of the information regarding materials offered through Irving’s Material Exchange.

Q: Is information about users confidential?
A:Yes. The identities of users are known only to the program administrator of Irving’s Material Exchange, only email addresses are posted with the listing. Other information is shared with other users only through mutual correspondence. For example, if a searcher is interested in an item, he/she will email the lister. If the lister wants to respond to the searcher, he/she can do so by return email. Irving’s Material Exchange will not give out or sell the names or addresses of Irving’s Material Exchange users.

Q: If I find something I want and arrange to pick the item up, do I also have to give something away?
A: No. You can locate an item and arrange for exchange of that item without listing an item in return.

Q: What can I list on Irving’s Material Exchange?

Q: Why do I need to fill in an item’s weight?
A: Irving’s Material Exchange Program is interested in tracking its success. One of the key ways we measure our success is by determining the number of pounds of material that are reused instead of thrown away through this program each year. If you are unsure of the weight of your item, please see the weight estimates and estimate the weight to the best of your ability.

Q: What must I do to be able to list items on Irving’s Material Exchange?
A: Have an active email account. Agree to the Terms and Conditions. 

Q: Why do I need an email account?
A:All of Irving’s Material Exchange users are required to have an email account. For example, if a searcher is interested in an item, he/she will email the lister. If the lister wants to respond to the searcher, he/she can do so by return email. Irving’s Material Exchange will not give out or sell the names or addresses of Irving’s Material Exchange users.
