Professional Biography:

Prior to being hired by the Irving Police Department, Captain Snyder served three years in the United States Army in the Military Police. He served two years with the University of Texas Police Department. He was hired by the Irving Police Department in July 1978. He has served in the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, Planning and Research Section, Training Section, and the Technical Services Division. He received his Master Peace Officers Certificate and has an Associates Degree. He has 26 commendations, one Police Commendation Bar, and three Certificates of Merit. He is a TCLEOSE certified Police Instructor and Firearms Instructor. Prior to taking command of the Special Operations Division he commanded the North Patrol Division.
