Independence Day Celebration

Join the City of Irving for the annual two-part celebration of America’s independence.  The festivities, which are a tradition for many Irving families, will all take place on Friday, July 4.

The fun begins with a community parade, featuring entries by community groups and businesses, followed by a reception at Heritage Park.  Finish the day with an evening festival, showcasing live music, food, a Fun Zone, and fireworks spectacular.

Parade Participation - Required Documents:

This award-winning parade takes place in the Irving Heritage District along Irving Blvd. and Second St.  Community organizations, schools, churches and individuals participate with bands, floats, marching groups and more.  Participation is free; parade entry forms are now available.  
Immediately following the parade, the community gathers in Heritage Park (217 S. Main St.) for a free reception.  Enjoy live music by the Kenny Chavez Combo, free watermelon, and fun activities for children.  The reception runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

Independence Day Fireworks Show 

6 to 10 p.m.
Lake Carolyn
601 E. Las Colinas Blvd.
Bring the whole family out for an evening of fun, food and fireworks!  The Fun Zone, open from 6 p.m. until sunset, includes inflatable rides, games and attractions for children at no charge.  The Main Stage features upbeat live music, while a variety of food vendors offer something for every taste.  Don't forget a blanket or chair to sit on the lawn and enjoy the spectacular fireworks show at the end of the night!  Call (972) 721-2501 for more information.

The festivities have moved to a new location!  Join the fun on the south side of Lake Carolyn, near the intersection of E. Las Colinas Blvd. and Lake Carolyn Pkwy.  From SH 114 exit Riverside/Rochelle and head north.  Parking is available in area parking garages; early arrival is recommended.
