ActiveNet Simplifies Process for Recreation Program Registration

No more standing in line to sign up for city’s recreational programs. To enjoy city recreational programs, ActiveNet registration is now required.

Beginning this fall, recreation center patrons must register for programs online using ActiveNet. The new online registration service eliminates the need to stand in lines at recreation centers on registration days by providing a new, convenient option to participants. With the change, those interested in participating in Irving’s fall recreational programs can conveniently sign up for programs from any Internet-enabled computer. To get started, prospective and current membership ID cardholders must complete the following steps.

Step 2: Purchase a Membership

  • Once the account for the household is created, purchase an Irving Parks and Recreation (IPAR)Membership Card.
    • To purchase a membership, visit any Irving Recreation Center during business hours.
    • Each adult must bring photo identification showing proof of Irving residency to receive the resident rate.
    • Memberships must be purchased in person.  An ID card will be issued to each member ages 12 and older. Children ages 11 and younger will not be issued a card, but must be registered for a membership to participate in programs.
  • The membership is valid for one year.
  • Membership is required to participate in any Irving Parks and Recreation program.
  • Membership Fees.
    • Recreation Centers
      • Ages 0-11: Free
      • Ages 12 and older: $5 (resident), $30 (nonresident)
      • Corporate ID Card: $25 nonresident that works in Irving (must show proof)
    • Heritage Senior Center
      • Ages 50 and older – $10 (residents), $30 (nonresidents)

Note: Fees for existing members will be waived for the first year.

Residents – Tues., Aug. 26
Nonresidents – Thurs., Aug. 28

Step 3: Online Registration - Fall Registration

  • Cardholders can to register for Fall programs online.
    • Go to
  • Select “Register Online”.
    • View the available programs; register members of your household.
    • Make payment using major credit card.

Patrons without Internet access can complete ActiveNet registration using computers at city libraries. Front desk staff at recreation centers also are available for assistance. For more information, visit or call (972) 721-2501.


Volunteer Information

The Parks and Recreation Department provides a number of volunteer opportunities that support programs and services. Volunteers help us to provide an enhanced level of service to the residents of Irving, while in turn providing much appreciated assistance to the Parks and Recreation staff.  More information | Volunteer Application
