Participate in the Irving Public Library's summer reading clubs. This summer, readers of all ages will enjoy entertainment and win prizes.
Children's Summer Reading Club — Dig into Reading!
Irving’s Summer Reading Club is a great way to keep kids learning and have fun throughout the summer. Research shows children who participate in summer reading programs score higher on reading tests and are more confident readers the following year. Participants earn prizes by reading for 20 minutes or more a day. Each branch hosts special events weekly between June 1 and July 31 at 2:30 p.m.
Weekly Event Schedule
- Monday – East Branch Library, 440 S. Nursery Road
- Tuesday – West Irving Library, 4444 W. Rochelle Road
- Wednesday – Valley Ranch Library, 401 Cimarron Trail
- Saturday – Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd.
The reading club attendees for grades 6–12 will experience the national "Fierce Reads" author tour, crafts, movie marathons and gaming competitions. Every seven hours of reading earns a prize.
