Irving Maintains Current Process for 24/7 CAP
The City of Irving has made no changes to its 24/7 Criminal Alien Program (CAP) or the manner in which we share information with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency regarding potential illegal immigrants. The Irving Police Department continues to process all persons arrested, regardless of the charge, through the 24/7 CAP.Despite recent reports about possible changes that ICE is initiating, the Irving Police Department has not received formal notice of any policy changes from ICE at this time. The Police Department will not consider any potential changes unless official notification is provided.
Irving residents’ safety and security remains the top priority for the Police Department as they continue to enforce current Texas laws.
