Toddler Time Storytime

Toddler storytime (18 months to 3 years old) is a 30-minute program designed especially for younger children and their caregivers. Storytime activities include the sharing of books, fingerplays, songs, flannel board stories, various activities and the occasional puppet play. At least one adult needs to accompany a child attending toddler storytime, and adults are encouraged to participate in the activities.  No registration is required.

Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m

Tuesdays at 4 p.m.
Wednesdays at 10 and 10:45 a.m.

Preschool Storytime

Preschool storytime (ages 3 to 6 years old) is 30 minutes long and includes the sharing of books, fingerplays, songs, flannel board stories, various activities and the occasional puppet play. In this storytime the librarian focuses more on increasing the child’s attention span and developing cognitive and social skills. Children attend preschool storytime with or without their adult caregivers.  Caregivers must remain in the library.  Registration is not required.

Mondays at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Preschool Storytime Schedule at the Valley Ranch Branch Library:
Wednesdays at 4 p.m.

Family Storytime

Family Storytime (for all ages) is a program that families can attend together. Activities are designed so that children and their parents can participate with each other. Books, music, rhymes, puppet shows and games are selected that are suitable for children of various ages. Registration is not required.

Fridays at 11 a.m.

Family Storytime Schedule at the Southwest Branch Library:
Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

Family Storytime Schedule at the Valley Ranch Branch Library:
Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.

Books, music, rhymes, puppet shows and games are selected that are suitable for children of various ages. Registration is not required.

Martes/ Tuesdays at 1 p.m.

Mother Goose Storytime

Mother Goose storytime (4 months to 18 months old) is a series of special 20-minute programs designed for babies and their care-givers. The program will include singing, puppets, and movement to enhance and bring to life world of language. Activities will be presented in a manner which is sensitive to a baby's need for controlled environment. Space is limited. Registration is required. Please call the Central Library's Children's Services desk at (972) 721-2458, or the Valley Ranch Branch Library at (972) 721-4669 to register for the next available session.
