Description: Tom Haley and his wife, Fannie Tompkins Haley, are shown on their 50th wedding anniversary. The Haley family came to what is today’s western Irving in the late 1850s. Tom, born 1872, married Fannie Tompkins, who was from another pioneer family that also settled in today’s western Irving. The Haleys had a farm near the present-day intersection of Esters Road and Northgate Blvd. The couple had six children. Three of their daughters were longtime teachers in the Irving schools.
