     Permission to publish from the collection must be obtained from the Irving Archives, Irving Public Library.


     The file contains a postcard postmarked February 11, 1909. The color depiction on front is of the Dallas County Court House. The card was sent from Dallas to Boston, Massachusetts. The handwritten note on the card says “Go from here to El Paso. Fine here today. Hopkins.”

     The file also contains a postcard with a color picture of the Exposition Building at the Texas State Fair grounds on front. There is a handwritten note on back relating to a missed visit and the hot weather, 1909. Also included is a packet of 11 postcards depicting building in downtown Dallas, 1915. There is a brief message in which the sender reminds the receiver that, although he lives in the city, not to forget he is from the country. 

     Three Texas Centennial Exposition colortone style postcards, 1936. One is titled “Fountain in Lagoon, Showing Fine Arts Building in the Background” another is  “Aquarium, Texas Centennial Exposition, Dallas” and the third “Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas.” The file also contains a Boy Scout patch with a depiction of the national office and the words “National Office – Irving, Texas.”
