Description

     The file contains a newspaper article about a promotional event held in Arlington for the local release of the movie The War Wagon.  A photo accompanying the article is of the movie’s star, John Wayne, and Irving theater owner Jerry Meager and his wife, June 29, 1967. The file also contains an article about the closing of Peck’s Office Supply store after thirty-eight years in business in Irving, c. mid-1980s. Also included is a newspaper picture of people standing in line waiting to get new license plates, March 31, 1974. The lines used to be very long because everyone got new license plates in a short period at the same time of the year.
