The file contains a photocopy of M. C. Lively’s military record from the United States Civil War era. Mr. Lively enlisted in the Confederate Army on January 20, 1862, in Dallas, Texas. He signed on for a one-year term. He was a private in Company E, 18 Regiment Texas Cavalry. The Lively family were pioneers in northwest Dallas County. M.C. Lively taught school in the area that later became Irving, Texas.
