The file contains a newspaper article from the Dallas Times Herald, February 11, 1973, regarding the La Reunion Colony and Fishtrap Cemetery and a small article about the naming of the city of Irving, n.d. Also included is a photo 3¼ x 5¼, b&w, of a young boy standing on a porch, c. 1910; and a 1912 calendar advertising “A.J. Clark Staple and Fancy Groceries, Irving, Texas.” The file also contains a Dallas Morning News supplemental magazine entitled “The 20th Century Through the Eyes of Texas,” September 26, 1999. Among the families profiled in the magazine is the Santerres. The Santerres settled in the La Reunion Colony and moved to what would become eastern Irving after the colony failed in the late 1850s.
The photo has been removed and placed in Photo Collection MVF Box #1.
The donor, Forrestine Galbreath, was a relative of A.J. Clark and George Clark who were early settlers in the area.
