The file contains an obituary from an unnamed newspaper or magazine for George L. Clark who died April 8, 1949; a cemetery deed for one lot sold by E. D. Sowers to Adolphus J. Clark in 1908; a photo of A. J. Clark and Fannie Clark, n.d; a copy of a letter appointing George L. Clark rural letter carrier, 1911. These items made up accession number 9798-28.
Also included are an obituary for Pat Lowery from the Irving News, September 26, 1999; a photo of the cornerstone from “Old Red,” the Irving school building constructed in 1913. George Clark’s name is on the stone as a member of the school board. The file also includes a copy of a letter to the Irving School Board, dated October 1973, requesting that a school be named after George Clark. A history of the Clark family accompanies the letter. These items made up accession number 9798-69.
The file also includes a 1934 newspaper article about Adolphus J. Clark’s 87th birthday; a 1960 newspaper article about the growth of Irving; a warranty deed in which J. O. Schulze sells Lots 1 and 2 of Block 8 in the town of Irving to George L. Clark, 1922; release of lien from Irving State Bank to J. O. Schulze for Lots 3, 4 and 5, Block 8 in the town of Irving, 1910. These items made up accession number 85-20a.

This collection is made up of three accessions; all were donated by relatives of George Clark. Helen McCloskey is George Clark’s daughter, and Pat Lowery was Helen McCloskey’s daughter and George Clark’s granddaughter.
