     Irving’s Diamond Jubilee was held in 1978 celebrating the seventy-fifth anniversary of the city’s founding.  The event was sponsored by the Irving Heritage Society.  The Heritage Society produced a large number of these fans to commemorate the event. 

     The fan is white, lightweight cardboard with sketches of five early Irving area churches on the face of the fan.  The churches depicted are: St. Luke Catholic Church, 1902; Church of Christ, 1904; Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 1853; First Presbyterian Church, 1934; and First United Methodist Church, 1908.
