APPLYING FOR CDBG AND ESG FUNDS FOR NON-PROFIT

ORGANIZATIONS AND FAITH BASED ORGANIZATIONS

SERVING LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS

Non-profit and faith based organizations seeking CDBG or ESG funding must submit a formal application to the Housing and Human Services Department.  Organizations must have a non-profit 501 3-C determination to apply for funding.

Applications are reviewed by members of the Housing and Human Services Board who recommend funding for City Council approval.  CDBG public service funds must be used to benefit low to moderate income persons.  The program proposed for CDBG funding must be either a new service of the agency or a quantifiable increase in the numbers served of an existing program.

Emergency Shelter Grant funds are used to provide direct services to homeless persons and to assist households who are at risk of homelessness.

Contact the Housing and Human Services Department office at 972-721-4803 for further information or to be placed on a notification list for the FY 2006-2007 Request for Application.
