Item 1 – Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Sue Cicherski, seconded by Daisy Staples that the minutes be approved.The motion carried unanimously.

Item 2 – Council Action Report

Paul made comments on his Council Action report.

A. Delaware Creek Park Development

Marvin Randle made comments regarding Delaware Creek Park.

Item 5 – Action Items

A. Delaware Creek Park Development

Bill Milsap from Mesa Designs made a presentation on Delaware Creek Park. After the presentation, Craig Taylor (citizen) had comments and questions regarding the project. Some of the Board members also had questions and comments. The Board had concerns about there being a geiser water fountain in the park. Paul asked for a vote so he could take to the Council that there be no geiser. The vote was unanimous that there be no geiser in the park. Debra made a motion , seconded by Larry, that the plan go ahead except for the geiser and another form of a water display be designed.

A. Thomas Jefferson Park Entrance

Casey Tate made a presentation on the Thomas Jefferson Park entrance.

B. Recreation Division Marketing Plan

Dwight Pinnix and Jackie Madden made a presentation on the Recreation Marketing Campaign.

Item 6 – Information Items

C. Director’s Report

1. Feasibility of Dog Park

Paul asked the Board for their opinion of a Dog Park. The board, unanimously voiced that they had no interest in creating a dog park.

D. Athletic/Aquatic Activities Update

Chris gave an update on Athletic/Aquatic activities.

E. Recreation Activities Update

Dwight talked about the success of the July 4th parade. Most feel the parade should start one hour earlier.

F. Current Projects Update

Casey Tate made comments on the current projects and then answered questions regarding the projects. Casey also stated that on July 19th at 6:30, there would be a view of the proposed floor plan of new Senior Center at Lively, and on Aug. 13th there would be a public hearing on the floor plans at City Hall.
