City of Irving Irving, TX

Housing and Human Services Board

The Housing and Human Services Board (HHSB) is a nine-person, City Council-appointed committee of resident volunteers who provide oversight to the City grants program. The HHSB meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the 3rd floor conference room at the Housing and Human Services Department office, located in the Bank of America building at 2520 W. Irving Blvd Suite 300, Irving, 75061 unless otherwise noted. All HHSB meeting agendas are posted and filed with the City Secretary’s Office no less than 72 hours prior to the meeting.

The Housing and Human Services Board replaced the former Community Development Advisory Committee with the formation of the Housing and Human Services Department.

The City Housing and Human Services Department Mission is to “Support neighborhood revitalization and community services on behalf of those residents who are most in need (especially the youngest and oldest among us) and on behalf of those neighborhoods most in need, through effective projects which serve the largest number of people possible.”

The purpose of the Board is to serve as an educational outreach and citizen input mechanism for the community and in an advisory capacity to staff and council, and to act as an appeals board for all city-administered programs funded with HUD grant funds, including housing rehabilitation, homeownership assistance and human service programs.
