The exhibition aims to explore the idea of travel and American culture through interactive photography. Vernacular photographs taken in the 1950s and ‘60s are featured and paired with contemporary photographs Natalie Slater shot along the modern day Route 66, from the same locations and vantage points. The images are backlit and overlaid inside interactive light boxes to create a unique road trip experience, with a view towards both past and present. Exhibit located in Carpenter Lobby.

Parents, caregivers and children ages 1-3 are invited to a five week interactive series with unstructured play and an opportunity to talk with a childcare specialist. The programs promote the role of parent as the child’s first teacher, and weekly topics include literacy and play, language development, nutrition, safety and child development.

Young women in grades 6-12 are invited to register for the Girls Who Code Animation class taking place from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on the following dates: Sept. 1, 15, 29, Oct. 13, 27, Nov. 10 and 24. Students must register at the Valley Ranch Information Desk in person, no exceptions. Additional rules and registration guidelines apply. For teens in grades 6-12. Do you have big ideas and a creative flair? Join Y'ALL and earn volunteer hours for helping the Valley Ranch Library plan and implement teen programs! Socialize with friends and help make the library a more teen-friendly place. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month. Pick up an application at the Information Desk.
