July 3, 2018 - July 31, 2018 @ Irving Animal Care Campus
The Irving Animal Care Campus is filled with great pets looking for their dream homes. Animal Services is extending its Adopt-a-Cat month special, waiving adoption fees for cats one year and older; kittens are available for a $50 adoption fee. Vaccinations, spay/neuter, leukemia test and microchip included with all cat adoptions.
All adoptions must be processed 30 minutes before closing.
July 14, 2018, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ West Irving Aquatic Center
The program is custom-designed for children with special needs, ages 18 and younger. AquaStars participants must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. On a monthly basis, AquaStars provides special needs children with an opportunity to sidestep crowds and experience the excitement of play at the West Irving Aquatic Center. Participants only pay the standard facility admission rate for the program.
The safety of AquaStars guests is paramount to program organizers. The West Irving Aquatic Center’s pool features include an accessible ramp, accessible chair lift and water chair, making it an ideal location for the AquaStars program. The city will provide the appropriate lifeguard and staffing ratios, as well as access to waterproof wheelchairs.
July 1, 2018 - September 2, 2018 @ Irving Arts Center
The exhibition aims to explore the idea of travel and American culture through interactive photography. Vernacular photographs taken in the 1950s and ‘60s are featured and paired with contemporary photographs Natalie Slater shot along the modern day Route 66, from the same locations and vantage points. The images are backlit and overlaid inside interactive light boxes to create a unique road trip experience, with a view towards both past and present. Exhibit located in Carpenter Lobby.

Four Seasons Markets is a European-style market where ranchers, farmers, specialty food producers and artisanal craftsmen can interact with customers and other vendors in a colorful, exciting, family friendly atmosphere that mimics the village markets popular throughout Europe. Shop the market every Saturday, then cool off while browsing the galleries.
Farmers Market is located in the North Parking Lot of the Irving Arts Center.

The International Organization of African Nurses is hosting a launch party at Irving Arts Center. The organization is committed to engaging nurses, medical professionals, and other well-wishers to become part of forming real solutions to health care problems across Africa. A red carpet pre-event party will begin at 5:30 p.m. while the main event commences at 7:30 p.m.

Too hot outside? Join us indoors for a paint and take activity that’s fun for the whole family. You can take your project home the same day. No waiting, no glazing. Prices are per piece starting at $5. For ages 5 and older. Children younger than 11 must be accompanied by a parent. Registration required by July 11.

Middle and high school students are invited to create fun memories with friends at Poolside Teen Jam events planned this summer. Hosted by Lively Pointe Youth Center, the Teen Jams combine music, food, friends and water into a party atmosphere. Admission is free for students with a valid IPAR card or school ID.
In case of inclement weather, the Splash Jam will be canceled.
