  1. Free Cat Adoptions

    June 1, 2018 - June 30, 2018 @ Irving Animal Care Campus

    June is Adopt-a-Cat Month at the Irving Animal Care Campus, 4140 Valley View Lane. Adoption fees for cats 1 year and older are waived during June, and kittens are available for a $50 adoption fee. Vaccinations, spay/neuter, leukemia test and microchip included with all cat adoptions.

    All adoptions must be processed 30 minutes before closing.

Aquatics

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Class

    June 22, 2018, 8:00 AM - June 24, 2018, 6:30 PM @ North Lake Natatorium

    Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.

    Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from 7 to 10 feet depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.

    Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

Novices will have the chance to learn from more experienced cooks, and the experienced cooks will have a chance to show off and share their amazing skills.     Middle and high school students are invited to create fun memories with friends at Poolside Teen Jam events planned this summer. Hosted by Lively Pointe Youth Center, the Teen Jams combine music, food, friends and water into a party atmosphere. Admission is free for students with a valid IPAR card or school ID.

    In case of inclement weather, the Splash Jam will be moved inside the adjacent recreation center.
