  1. Free Pets for Military

    The Irving Animal Care Campus (IACC), 4140 Valley View Lane, is waiving adoption fees for pets adopted by military personnel May 22-26 to thank them for courageously serving the United States.

    This special adoption offer is available to all U.S. military — active duty and veterans with a valid military I.D. The IACC is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Adoptions must be processed 30 minutes before closing.

Aquatics

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Class

    May 24, 2018 - May 28, 2018 @ North Lake Natatorium

    Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.

    Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from 7 to 10 feet depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.

    Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

Shop the market every Saturday, then cool off while browsing the galleries. The market is located in the South Parking lot at the Irving Arts Center.

    Girls in grades 6-12 are invited to join up every other Saturday and learn how to code! We'll learn HTML, SQL, JavaScript and CSS for websites, animation and more. Space is limited and registration is required. Sign-up for this class begins on May 21 at the Valley Ranch Library Information Desk. Participants must bring their own laptops.
