Aquatics

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Class

    April 27, 2018 - April 29, 2018 @ North Lake Natatorium

    Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.

    Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from 7 to 10 feet depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.

    Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

    Four Seasons Markets was established to develop and manage European style markets where ranchers, farmers, specialty food producers and artisanal craftsmen can interact with customers in a colorful, exciting, family friendly atmosphere that mimics the village markets popular throughout Europe. Shop the market every Saturday, then cool off while perusing the galleries. Farmers Market will take place at the Irving Arts Center south parking lot.

  1. Celebrating Irving: One-Day Irving Trivia

    April 28, 2018, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ West Irving Library Meeting Room

    At this annual event, cheer on the teams competing for the coveted Irving Trivia trophy. This year, all rounds are held on the same day, and the winning team will be announced. Refreshments.

    Girls in grades 6-12 are invited to join up every other Saturday and learn how to code! We'll learn HTML, SQL, JavaScript and CSS for websites, animation and more. Space is limited and registration is required. Sign-up for this class begins on April 23 at the Valley Ranch Library Information Desk. Participants must bring their own laptops.
