  1. Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Series: Making the Most of my Plate

    April 26, 2018, 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM @ East Branch Library Program Room

    This free bilingual seven-part series presents nutrition classes and recipe demonstrations. The program will help you learn how to make healthy and safe food choices, cook for your family, get the most for your money, and stay physically active. The class meets on Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. Class will not be held on May 24. For more information, please call (214) 688-0903.

    The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program is presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, the Texas A&M System, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

  1. FIT (Families in Training) for Health Series: Social Support & Communication

    April 26, 2018, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Valley Ranch Library Glass Alcove

    Families are invited to an 11-part series promoting health through physical activities, lifestyle coaching and nutrition. No registration is required. It's encouraged that families attend each weekly session through May 10, but walk-ins on other program dates are welcome. When arriving, please check at the library's front desk for the class location.

    The series continues in May. Funded by the National Institutes of Health (Dr. Heather Kitzman, Baylor Scott & White Health) in collaboration with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.
