  2. My Fair Lady, Dallas Baptist University College of Fine Arts

    When Lerner and Loewe’s “My Fair Lady” opened on Broadway, it collected six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, while the film version took home eight Oscars, including “Best Picture.” Based on George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, “My Fair Lady” is that rare musical by which all others are measured. Dallas Baptist University’s College of Fine Arts presents this classic tale of a cockney flower girl transformed into an elegant lady.

Come celebrate the legendary author and illustrator of such classics as “Horton Hears a Who,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” and “The Lorax.” Explore new stories and fun art projects on the first Thursday of each month during this creative story time that combines art and children’s literature. Create a take-home art project and then browse the galleries as part of this fun morning activity.

  1. Discover with Me Interactive Play

    Parents, caregivers and children ages 1-4 are invited to a five week interactive series with unstructured play and an opportunity to talk with a childcare specialist. The programs promote the role of parent as the child’s first teacher, and weekly topics include literacy and play, language development, nutrition, safety and child development.

  2. FIT (Families in Training) for Health Series: Introduction

    March 1, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Valley Ranch Library Glass Alcove

    Families are invited to an 11-part series promoting health through physical activities, lifestyle coaching and nutrition. No registration is required. It's encouraged that families attend each weekly session beginning March 1, but walk-ins on other program dates are welcome. When arriving, please check at the library's front desk for the class location.

    After tonight's session, remaining topics in March:
    March 8: Run In (Physical Activity and Nutrition).
    March 15: Goal Setting.
    March 22: Energy Balance.
    March 29: Communication.

    Funded by the National Institutes of Health (Dr. Heather Kitzman, Baylor Scott & White Health) in collaboration with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.
