Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.
Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from a 7- to 10-foot depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.
Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

The City of Irving offers area families a fun, free experience with the Citywide Egg Hunt! Take part in egg hunts for children ages 3-10, with thousands of toy-filled and candy-filled eggs, as well as photos with the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo and craft activities. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.
Children ages 1-2 years who are able to walk independently may take part in the Egg Stroll. This is a special area dedicated to our youngest participants, which allows them to hunt for eggs at their own pace.

Keep Irving Beautiful invites all residents, businesses and civic groups to make a clear and clean difference in the community by participating in the 2017 Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off. Part of a national movement, Keep Irving Beautiful is one of more than 1,200 organizations that will engage millions of volunteers in improving their communities through litter-abatement events and activities on or around April 8. All ages are welcome.
