  2. Whirled Tour: Balkan Line Dancing

    February 11, 2017, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ South Irving Library Meeting Room #1

    Get out your dancing shoes (or sneakers) and join us for a year-long tour of world cultures through dance. This month our tour takes us to the Balkan region of southeast Europe. Balkan line dancing is a long tradition in the countries of Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia. Folk dancer Wende Waters will teach some of the basic dances and share a bit of history of the region. She asks that you bring a belt or cloth sash that other people can hold and tug on. Sound intriguing? Come on out and give it a try. No partner or previous dance experience required. Ages 12 and up.
