  1. Friends of the Irving Public Library Teachers' Book Sale

    August 18, 2018, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Friends of Irving Public Library Warehouse

    Teachers: Just in time for back to school, get children's books at these unbelievable prices --- paperbacks are .25 each and hardbacks are .50 each. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted, and proceeds benefit the Irving Public Library. While you're there, meet and greet library staff, enjoy refreshments from 9 a.m. to noon, and grab this opportunity to sign up for a library card. Can’t make it in the morning? No worries! The sale opens to the public at noon and runs until 5 p.m. The Irving Public Library Summer Reading Challenge is made possible by the Friends of the Library.

Presented by the League of Women Voters of Irving.

  3. Chapter Books and Cozy Nooks Book Club discusses Geronimo Stilton's Mighty Mount Kilimanjaro

The programs promote the role of parent as the child’s first teacher, and weekly topics include literacy and play, language development, nutrition, safety and child development.

    Children in preschool through Kindergarten (ages 4-6) will be introduced to coding and building concepts using stories, DUPLOs, Codepillars, and Beebots. Participants are challenged to complete simple and engaging activities in this 45-minute program. This program is supported by the Friends of the Irving Public Library, through an award provided by Irving ShareTank.
