Public Input Sought on Irving City Budget


Planning for the city’s 2014–15 fiscal year budget is under way. Residents have the opportunity to provide input on the budget during several upcoming public hearings.

Residents are invited to provide input on the city’s 2014-2015 fiscal budget during upcoming public hearings. Comments can be made to the City Council on any aspect of the budget, including programs, projects, rates and fees. Please allow five business days for responses to questions.

The public input sessions are scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 22, June 5 and 26 at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. Two additional hearings will be held to comment on the proposed budget following the budget retreat in August. Call the City Secretary’s Office at (972) 721-2493 to confirm hearing dates.

The city’s budget year begins October 1, and the current year’s budget is available for review online. Adoption of the budget is scheduled for Sept. 18, and the city’s budget year runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
