|Air Pollution Action (Watch) Day Alert|
|On Air Pollution Action (Watch) Days you can Be Air Aware and reduce ozone-forming emissions by implementing clean air strategies. Businesses, governments and individuals can visit AirNorthTexas.org to commit to clean air strategies. Here are some great examples of things you can do to help improve air quality: Carpool or vanpool, bike or walk instead of driving, take mass transit such as DART, The T, or DCTA, report smoking vehicles, observe the speed limit, avoid idling, combine trips, keep your vehicle maintained by getting it inspected, keeping tires properly inflated and changing filters regularly. Children, older adults and people with lung disease, such as asthma, emphysema, or chronic bronchitis, should limit outdoor activity if air quality reaches Level Orange. If air quality reaches Level Red, Children, older adults and people with lung disease, such as asthma, emphysema, or chronic bronchitis, should avoid outdoor activity. All other people should limit prolonged outdoor exertion if air quality reaches Level Red. For more information, visit AirNorthTexas.org.
You can keep track of your alternative commute on TryParkingIt.com. You will receive an estimate of miles saved and harmful emissions reduced, each time you submit your alternate commute. Bike or walk to work? You'll receive an estimate of calories burned.
