July SRC Events for Adults


The kids shouldn't have all the fun this summer! Ever watched your child busily working on a craft project and wish you could join in? Do you spend hours browsing Pinterest or playing trivia? Bring those interests to the forefront during Irving Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge. All month long enjoy creative and crafting events, where the supplies are provided for free! We also have several movie screenings and "theatrical" events, so grab a seat on the front row! See our entire list by library location:

South Irving Library, 601 Schulze Drive

A Rock, Paper, Scissors Craftapalooza

July 17, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

All materials are provided. This make-it-and-take-it program is open to adults and teens.

Lit's Alive presents The Phantom of the Opera (ages 13+)

July 21, 2 p.m. 

Watch a hit musical on the big screen with the 2004 movie adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera (rated PG-13), featuring Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum. Crafts and refreshments are provided. 

Friday Night Library presents The Greatest Show on Earth (all ages)

July 27, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Come one, come all! We'll clown around at the library with games and crafts for the entire family. At 8 p.m., belt out your favorite tunes and "come alive!" with a special sing-along showing of The Greatest Showman!

Trivia on the Patio: Rock from the '60s and '70s (Ages 16+)

July 12, 7:30 p.m. 

From Elvis to the Eagles, see how well-versed you are with these classic rock trivia questions.

Craftworks: Rockin' Terracotta Pots (Ages 16+)

July 13, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. 

Decorate a musical-themed pot for a small plant. For ages 16 and up.

Trivia on the Patio: Musicals (Ages 16+)

July 26, 7:30 p.m. 

Test yourself to find out if trivia questions about popular Broadway musicals strike a chord.

SRC at West Craftworks: Record Bowls (Ages 16+)

July 27, 1 p.m. 

Melt down some hot hits to make a catchall mini-bowl! 

Valley Ranch Library, 401 Cimarron Trail 

Sheet Music Watercolors (Adults only)

July 9, 7 p.m. 

Create your own piece of artwork out of sheet music and watercolors. 


Valley Ranch Movie Musicals: Burlesque (ages 13+)

July 14, 4 p.m.

SRC at Valley Ranch: Guitar Pick Flower Magnets

July 23, 7 p.m. 

Make your own beautiful guitar pick flower magnets to display your photos or important reminders. For adults only.

Rockin’ Movie: Grease (Ages 13+)

July 19, 4 p.m.

Watch this classic movie, and sing along with Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. Ages 13+
