Score! IPAL's Summer Hoops and Kicks Programs Return July 9

Children learning the basics of soccer with Irving Police Athletic League's Summer Kicks program.

Calling all Irving kids 8 to 14 years old! The Irving Police Department and the Irving Police Athletic League (IPAL) have opened registration for the Summer Hoops and Kicks programs.

The programs teach the fundamentals of basketball and soccer, while also teaching kids the value of good sportsmanship and how to work as a team.

Both camps are free and run from July 9 to Aug. 3. Summer Hoops is for kids ages 10 to 14; Summer Kicks accepts kids ages 8 to 14. Free breakfast and lunch will be served daily.

Summer Hoops and Summer Kicks are just two programs in a catalog of classes and activities IPAL offers the community. The IPAL program is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit program, and the Irving chapter is one of the most successful. For more than 25 years IPAL has worked with at-risk kids to build self-esteem through athletic activities. IPAL is in the middle of a major fundraising effort to expand its facility and programs, and serve more kids.

Visit IrvingPal.org for more information on IPAL and registering for Summer Hoops and Summer Kicks.
