Bird’s Fort Trail River Bank Repair and Canoe Launch Project

Patrons enjoy Bird's Fort Trail Park in Irving, Texas.

River bank repair work and construction of a canoe launch has begun at Bird’s Fort Trail Park, 5756 Riverside Drive; the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October, weather permitting. Located on the north side of the large pavilion, the project includes approximately 400 linear feet of river bank stabilization, trail realignment, the relocation of two shade structures, and the construction of a new overlook deck and canoe launch.

A temporary asphalt trail will be installed for use during the project. Construction traffic will use the park entry drive, and a temporary chain link fence will be installed to contain the construction site.

Park patrons are advised to stay alert and avoid construction traffic and crews in the park.
