*New* Cook the Book: a Cooking Book Club

Cook the Book

Do you love browsing through cookbooks and trying new recipes or cooking techniques? Do you enjoy sampling and sharing new dishes? Then hang onto your spatula! There is a new book club where you can indulge your inner foodie! We pick the cookbook; you choose and make a recipe. Then we all partake.

You don’t have to be a gourmet chef to participate in Cook the Book. Novices will have the chance to learn from more experienced cooks, and the experienced cooks will have a chance to show off and share their amazing skills. Appetizers, main courses and desserts…you decide. It’s all on the table!

Stop by the Valley Ranch Library Reference Desk to register for the book club, by signing a release, and picking your recipe. Each month a new recipe book will be selected and waiting at the Reference Desk for club members to browse through and make their selections. Staff will supply participants with a photocopy of the recipe. Then it will be marked in the book with a post-it note to avoid duplicate dishes.

Save your appetite for mouth-watering dishes by the book on the following Saturdays at noon:

  • May 26
  • June 23
  • July 28
  • August 25
  • September 22
  • November 24
  • December 15

The Valley Ranch Library is located at 401 Cimarron Trail. For more information, call (972) 721-4612.
