Volunteers needed! The North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF) returns to the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas on April 21, and festival organizers need volunteers. Volunteers for the NTTBF have the chance to get involved and give back to the North Texas community, meet famous authors, engage with educators and students, make new friends and overall share their love of books and young adult literature. Volunteers will assist with panel discussions, book signing and ticket lines, book sales, crowd and traffic control, greeting guests and monitoring photo booths. Experience is not required, and training will be provided.
Spots are open to anyone over 18 years old, but the experience could particularly benefit college students, especially those pursuing degrees in education, English, creative writing or related disciplines. Corporate and civic groups interested in becoming more engaged with the community also are encouraged to sign up. It is an amazingly rewarding experience which produces a huge impact for the few hours of work involved. Volunteers who also love Young Adult and Middle Grade books don't have to miss out on the fun either. Visit SignUp.com to plan out the day around your favorite author panels.
Parking at the ICC is $8; however, DART also is an option.
The deadline is April 19. To sign up, individuals can visit NorthTexasTeenBookFestival.com/Singles/ for more information. To learn more about the North Texas Teen Book Festival, visit www.northtexasteenbookfestival.com, or follow us on social media @NTTBFest on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
