Residents Can Sign Up for iAlert Through Text Message

When emergencies or crime happens, direct and correct communication is indispensable. With that in mind, the City of Irving is encouraging residents and workers to sign up for iALERT, a free mass notification system that provides essential information during emergencies or times of crisis.

The City of Irving has made the registration process more convenient, allowing subscribers to sign up for the system by texting their ZIP code to 888-777.

The notification system alerts subscribers to topics such as mosquito sprayings, unexpected road closures, current crimes, missing persons and power outages. Messages are targeted to a specific area, rather than sent to the community as a whole. The system is one of the many ways Irving notifies residents and businesses on community issues. For more information, call (972) 721-2100.
