We hope you’re ready to have another amazing time at the North Texas Teen Book Festival, because 2018—without a doubt—will be mind-blowingly epic. Although the event, taking place April 20-21 at the Irving Convention Center, is still about five months away, festival organizers are already taking to social media to make some exciting announcements about which A-list authors will be attending – and they have saved one of the best for the beginning!Last week, it was confirmed that Dav Pilkey, author-illustrator of the Captain Underpants series, will be attending NTTBF18 as the Middle Grade Keynote speaker. With over 70 million copies of his works sold worldwide, Pilkey will attract many new festival-goers this year interested in learning more about the inspiration behind his ultra-popular character Captain Underpants, and his newer series Dog Man and Ricky Ricotta’s Mighty Robot, which are currently blasting off to literary prominence. In 2017 Captain Underpants celebrated its 20th anniversary and the launch of its movie franchise which grossed $124.6 million worldwide.Want to know who else is coming to the festival?
