Live Long and Pros-Purr Adoption Event Targets Senior Pets

Star Trek's Spock holds a black cat - Live Long and Pros-Purr Adoption Event

All available animals 5 years and older are the focus in November at the Irving Animal Care Campus. Senior dogs and cats are available for free adoption all month. Visit the shelter or view available animals online.

Adopters must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid form of identification. 

Animals being adopted will be:

  • Up-to-date on vaccinations
  • Spayed or neutered
  • Given a general dewormer and treated for fleas and ticks
  • Microchipped and registered with 24PetWatch
  • Heartworm tested (dogs over 6 months of age)
  • FeLV / FIV tested (cats over 6 months of age)
  • Given 30 days of 24PetWatch pet insurance (with a valid email address)
  • Given a sample bag of Science Diet food
