Irving Reads on Facebook Live

It takes dozens of dedicated library staff, volunteers and partners to organize and produce Irving's community read program every fall. Whether they're hosting an author panel, leading a book club, or setting up the room for a celebration, we've got plenty of hard working people with a passion for reading in Irving.

This year you can meet many of these folks and listen to what's exciting about our Irving Reads events. Be sure to catch us on Facebook Live for the next five weeks to get the scoop on events you won't want to miss!

Facebook Live events take place at 11 a.m. on the following days:

Friday, Sept. 29 - Win big money with the Irving Writes Essay Contest,  attend an adult library book clubs and we celebrate cowgirls with the Erica Silverman author visit.

Thursday, Oct. 5 - We talk with program hosts for next week's big authors events - Rae Carson, Kirby Larson and the Not Your Father's Western Panel.

Thursday, Oct. 12 - Get the scoop on special Irving Reads storytimes with the library's prima puppeteer, the Irving Chautauqua dance program and the Cowboys Never Quit western writers panel.

Thursday, Oct. 19 - It's time to talk about kid's books clubs, the upcoming appearance by children's author Susan Stevens Crummel and the exciting Teen Western Showdown.

Thursday, Oct. 26 - We wrap up this year's celebration with the Irving Writes Essay Contest results and meet with the lead designer of the library's annual haunted house.

Visit the library's Facebook page often for these and other videos, along with plenty of photos and fun throughout October.
