Interested in fun and flexible employment? The Parks and Recreation Department Aquatics division is looking for lifeguards for its summer pools and aquatic centers.

Help Wanted

The Parks and Recreation Department has open part-time positions for service-oriented lifeguards at its outdoor pools and aquatic facilities. These employment opportunities are available to Red Cross-certified lifeguards, ages 16 and older.

Lifeguards are in the business of safety and prevention. In addition to enforcing all the rules and regulations of the pool, lifeguards are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the assigned facility. Irving lifeguards also will get a lot of customer service experience, such as registration responsibilities.

Training Available

While certified lifeguards are welcome to apply, those needing certification can register for Red Cross Lifeguard Classes. Visit the Aquatics calendar for the list of classes.

Application Process

Red Cross-certified individuals, as well as candidates with pending certification, are encouraged to apply. New hires must be available for orientation.

Lifeguard hopefuls can apply at the City of Irving Employment page. For more information, call (972) 756-0860 or (972) 721-2718.
