Economic Development

The Economic Development Department encourages business development and redevelopment through the use of various economic incentives as well as promoting business retention and expansion activities which support and grows Irving's strong economic base.

The Economic Development Department also provides real estate services in support of various projects conducted by other city departments and private property owners.

  • Tax Foreclosure Resales and Foreclosure notice requirements for Dallas County are handled through the Dallas County Public Works: Property Division.
  • Tax Sales or Sheriff's Sales for tax foreclosed property with taxes owed to the City of Irving, Dallas County, and Irving ISD are handled by Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson, LLP.
  • To purchase surplus property owned by the City of Irving, fill out the Bidder's Notification Form (PDF) with the city's Purchasing Department to receive notices regarding future solicitations or sales. Real estate and property is listed as category 26.

  • Visit the City of Irving Housing and Human Services for information regarding the Irving HHS Homebuyer Program, Down Payment Assistance, Home Restoration, Rental Assistance Programs, and Community Development Block Grants.
