About Towne is a biweekly half-hour arts series that highlights Irving’s excellent local artists and craftsmen, entertainment venues and arts organizations. It also serves the viewing audience by publicizing upcoming concerts, performances, festivals and events.

On this edition of About Towne we’ll heat things up at Zest Fest 2017. Then we’ll chill out at Cimarron park at a new family event, Frost Fest. We’ll meet the artists behind “The Book Forest Installation”. Plus, we’ll get the details on “Imagine You,” an event for teen girls at Lively Pointe, and we’ll get ready for Irving’s Got Talent and we’ll find out what’s new at the Irving Public Library’s 2017 African American Read-In.

Next time on About Towne we’ll check out the Dallas Comic Show. We’ll meet the artists showcased in the Irving Black Arts Council’s “Art Inspired” exhibit. And we’ll visit Haggerty Gallery at the University of Dallas for a look at the UD Regional Ceramics Competition
Plus, we’ll get the scoop on the North Texas Teen Book Festival 2017 and the Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree coming up March 9-12.  And we’ll learn about Irving ISD’s Gold Star Program.
