The Irving Police Department recognizes the importance of community awareness and involvement in our efforts to provide a safe living environment for residents, businesses, and visitors. We encourage you to look at the material provided and share the information with family, friends, facility managers, and co-workers, so everyone is better prepared.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has provided valuable educational material detailing what to do if you ever find yourself in an active shooter situation. Know how to respond when an active shooter is in your vicinity, when law enforcement arrives on the scene, and recognize signs of potential work place violence.
